OUR WORK

Dilapidation Reports on Buildings and Infrastructure

Dilapidation Reports are either required for two reasons. First, a Local Council might impose the need for a report pursuant to a Development Approval. Second, the prudence of an owner or building professional aware of the litigious nature of the building industry might deem it necessary to have such a report.

The value of a Dilapidation record is a way to capture and record in a professionally documented format the condition of a site, building or surrounding infrastructure.

A report that is an unbiased, independent factual record and time stamped as at the date of inspection becomes an important evidentiary document should a dispute or even legal proceedings commence which directs blame for damage on a contractor or affiliated party.

By obtaining a Dilapidation Report, owners and contractors have a level of protection against allegations which are unfounded or fabrications which otherwise are accusations that are costly to defend against.

Our Engineers have extensive experience in practical and theoretical dimensions of the building and construction industry and well equipped to carry out an inspection that identifies defects and states them for the record.

This is a job that requires the experience, skill and training of a professional building expert. No building expert is more qualified to provide this opinion than a Structural Engineer with many years of practical building experience spanning residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Our reports are in high resolution, full colour and presented at a high professional standard. The reports are written, and are fully supported by photographs showing defects and areas that could be affected by any proposed construction activity. We can provide the report electronically or in hard copy. We also cater for any special requests which deviate from a standard format report. Any special requirements should be discussed with our consultant.
